DESCRIPTION

Role Title: Linguistics Specialists Role Type: Contractor Location: Remote (US and Western Europe) micro1 is engaging Linguistics Specialists to contribute expertise to a customer project focused on language model evaluation. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. Scope of Work • Carefully review and analyze conversations between humans and large language models (LLMs) for accuracy, clarity, and completeness. • Examine and assess responses generated by LLMs against well-defined instruction-following guidelines. • Provide detailed, constructive written and verbal feedback regarding model output quality. • Identify subtle errors and inconsistencies in grammar, usage, and context, ensuring linguistic precision. • Deliver succinct, actionable feedback with meticulous attention to detail, focusing on accuracy rather than creativity. • Document findings and recommendations in clear, organized reports to support ongoing model improvements. • Collaborate with project coordinators to clarify guidelines and address ambiguities in tasks as needed. REQUIREMENTS

  • Native proficiency in U.S. English (required for this engagement).
  • Advanced academic background or extensive professional experience in linguistics, language analysis, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in written communication, with the ability to deliver nuanced linguistic assessments.
  • Strong generalist skills as a writer and linguistic specialist, with exceptional attention to language detail.
  • Ability to provide both written and verbal insights clearly and professionally in English.
  • Availability to begin contributing immediately upon selection.
  • Experience with guideline or rubric-based evaluation preferred, though not required.
