# Dutch Audio Transcriptionist (AI Training) ## About the Role What if your native Dutch fluency — and your ability to catch every word, even through crosstalk, background noise, and overlapping speakers — could directly shape how AI understands spoken Dutch for millions of people worldwide? We're looking for detail-oriented transcriptionists with native-level Dutch to produce accurate, high-quality transcriptions of Dutch-language audio, helping build the datasets that teach AI systems how real people actually speak. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to Dutch native speakers anywhere in the United States. Whether you're a heritage speaker, an expat, a language professional, or simply someone with an exceptional ear for Dutch — if you have the fluency and the attention to detail, we want to hear from you. - **Organization**: Alignerr - **Type**: Hourly Contract - **Location**: Remote - **Commitment**: 10–40 hours/week ## What You'll Do * Listen to Dutch-language audio recordings and produce precise, verbatim transcriptions * Handle challenging audio conditions — including crosstalk, filled pauses ("uhm," "eh," "hmm"), background noise, and multiple simultaneous speakers * Accurately identify and distinguish between different speakers throughout recordings * Follow detailed style and formatting guidelines with consistency and precision * Apply transcription conventions for non-verbal sounds, incomplete utterances, and other spoken-language phenomena * Maintain high quality and accuracy standards across large volumes of audio * Work independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments at your own pace ## Who You Are * Native or near-native fluency in Dutch — you catch every nuance, dialect cue, and filler word * Exceptional listening skills with the ability to parse difficult or noisy audio * Highly detail-oriented with a methodical, patient approach to repetitive tasks * Comfortable following and consistently applying detailed style guides and formatting rules * Strong written Dutch skills — spelling, punctuation, and grammar come naturally to you * Self-motivated and reliable when working independently without direct supervision * Comfortable using web-based tools and platforms ## Nice to Have * Professional experience in transcription, court reporting, or stenography * Background in subtitling, closed-captioning, or media post-production * Linguistics training or academic background in Dutch or related language studies * Prior experience with annotation platforms, data labeling, or AI training workflows * Familiarity with transcription software or audio editing tools * Knowledge of Dutch regional dialects — including Netherlands and Flemish varieties — and colloquial speech patterns ## Why Join Us * Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs * Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you * Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work * Contribute to AI development that directly improves how technology understands spoken Dutch * Sharpen your transcription and linguistic skills on diverse, real-world audio * Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
